I'm really excited to share this new crochet macrame basket project with you because it's made using the Spark Stitch - my very own crochet stitch design. This stitch sparkles and makes sturdy baskets!!
I published a video tutorial for this crochet macrame basket way earlier but didn't make a blog post for this. For those who already saw the tutorial or even made one, I hope you found the tutorial helpful and were happy with the result.
I really do like a decorative basket once in a while because they declutter my desk. After I shared my other macrame basket project, I received a couple of requests for more, so these macrame baskets came along.
The word 'decluttering' made me think of words like 'squeaky clean' and 'sparkles.' This is how the 'Spark Stitch' was born! It did take several frogs until I was satisfied with how the stitch looked, but it was well worth the frogs!🐸
Materials Needed:
2mm colored cotton macrame cord (I used about 60g)
A small decorative basket filled with colorful candy on my desk makes my workspace look much more inviting and appealing. These sweet treats and a cup of coffee help boost my energy and motivate me to be productive.
I like to do things at my own pace in a comfortable workspace and reward myself when I have been productive. Is this you also?
This basket doesn't even have to be for candy. You can use this to store your little trinkets or your stitch markers. It is also a good decoration item for Easter and Christmas. The little handles add to the design and make it easy to pick up and move around. I crocheted this sturdy mini basket with handles using macrame, but you can use any worsted weight yarn if you don't want to use macrame.
Like all of my other crochet projects, this mini basket is beginner-friendly. You'll finish making this in no time!
Materials Needed: 3mm single-strand cotton macrame cord or substitute with any worsted weight yarn (Category 4) Crochet Hook: 4.00mm (US G) and 3.75mm (US F) Stitch Markers Yarn Needle Scissors

Have you ever crocheted with macrame? If yes, what did you make?
What I like about crocheting with macrame is how defined the stitches look. I made this flower meadow-inspired desk basket using two all-time favorite crochet stitches: a variation of the moss stitch and the star stitch.
I also came up with a way to make both sides of the basket's oval base look almost identical, and I also tried to make the joins as invisible as possible. "What's the point?" You ask.
Because this is a shallow basket that will be sitting on a desk or table, it is an eye-level object. The insides will often also be visible, so in my opinion, it's better if it looks as neat as the outside. I want decorative objects to look attractive from all angles. Watch the video tutorial to find out how I did this!
You can use this basket to keep your writing utensils or crochet hooks. It also works as a bedside tray for eyeglasses if you wear glasses.
Materials Needed:
2mm colored cotton macrame cord (I used about 49g)
