...Imagine a cute little girl in a dress (or costume) carrying this basket full of small treats🍬

Happy Halloween! It's been a while, and I'm back with more decorative crochet baskets.

I had a few old balls of bulky weight acrylic yarn in my stash, so I decided to use them to make something.

It started as a little orange pumpkin, but I wasn't satisfied and pulled it apart about halfway through. These days, my small crochet projects tend to end up as baskets, and they did again. I turned that little pumpkin into decorative pom poms on the side of the basket, then also decided to add a handle.

I used fall-themed colors for this project, but you can use other colors for any season. You can crochet this basket for Halloween, Christmas, and even Easter, depending on the color you use. Since the basket has a handle, it would also work great as a cute little gift basket.

Below you will find the video tutorial for this crochet basket, the materials needed, stitches used, and the gauge.

Materials Needed:
Bulky weight (Category 5) acrylic yarn
Crochet Hook: 6.00mm (US J) and 4.50mm (US 7)
Stitch Marker
Yarn Needle
Scissors

Stitches (US terms used):
MC = Magic Circle (See video tutorial here)
CH = Chain
SLST = Slip Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
4DCTOG = 4 Double Crochet Stitches Together
YO = Yarn Over
ST(s) = Stitch(es)

Special Stitches:
4DCTOG = 4 Double Crochet Stitches Together: (YO, insert hook into the next ST. YO and pull up a loop. YO again, pull through only the first 2 loops) Repeat inside parentheses() a total of 4 times. You should now have 5 loops on your hook and 4 unfinished DCs. YO and pull through all 5 loops on your hook.

Gauge:
Base Rounds 1-4 = measure about 10cm (4"), using a 6.00mm (US J) crochet hook
